Cheerleading
The Linda Jobe Middle School Cheer Team supports athletic and academic organizations and performs for the entertainment of the greater Mansfield community. We believe that an exemplary cheerleading program in an extension of the classroom, promotes team spirit and nurture an opportunity for artistic endeavors. Cheerleading offers our students an opportunity to develop and grow physically, intellectually, emotionally and socially. Cheerleaders develop dance and cheer techniques, as well as acquire performance skills. Participants become self-disciplined and self-confident. The cheerleading team learns the value associated with working as a team, competition and service.
Everyone interested in being challenged and ready to be part of a group that will strive to think and act as one should try out. Middle school cheerleading clinics and tryouts are held in the Spring. Visit the MISD School Cheerleading page to learn more.

National Junior Honor Society
National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) was established to recognize outstanding middle school students. Students must demonstrate excellence in Scholarship, Leadership, Service, Character, and Citizenship. NJHS challenges them to further their development in school activities and community service.
Students are invited to participate based on their grade point average. Applications are normally sent out in March to students who meet the minimum 93.0 GPA. An induction is held in the Spring. Meetings and work sessions are held at least twice a month during lunches, and occasionally before or after school. Students are required to earn at least 15 hours of community service each semester.
